Warm orange flambé with whipped cream and almonds

My last flash of inspiration came on while I was talking to a colleague. We were discussing desserts, especially fruit based ones. I’d never thought of it before, but the following autumnal/wintery dessert popped into my head.

Imagine a halved orange with some cinnamon under the grill for a while. Then when it’s nice and hot, take it out, pour on some Grand Marnier or rum and flambé it. Top it off with some fresh whipped cream and perhaps some toasted almond slices, you’re rocking!

You might think that orange and cinnamon don’t go together. They do. Think about Glühwein or similar autumn drinks.

I can’t wait to try this one.
